Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw Top Studio Target For NBC's 'Sunday Night Baseball'
""Kershaw, who retired after the Dodgers' latest World Series title, would likely work select events if a deal comes to fruition, the sources said.""
""I really don't know what the next year, two years, five years looks like, which is kind of scary. But it's kind of a good thing, too. I'm excited not to have a schedule, not to have a routine. Never do an arm band again for the rest of my life. Never try to throw a weighted ball to throw harder again. So there's a lot of things that I'm looking forward to.""
NBC is pursuing Clayton Kershaw to work select events for Sunday Night Baseball and the 2026 first-round playoff coverage. Kershaw retired after 18 seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a World Series champion and hall-of-fame-caliber pitcher. Career highlights include a 223-96 record, a 2.53 ERA, three Cy Young awards, 11 All-Star appearances, and surpassing 3,000 career strikeouts in 2025 as the fourth left-hander in MLB history to reach that mark. Kershaw and his wife recently welcomed their fifth child, and he says he currently prefers a "no plan, plan" approach to post-retirement life.
