County supervisor races: Horvath seeks reelection, Durazo running for Solis' seat
Los Angeles County voters will vote Tuesday for county supervisor in District 1 and District 3. District 1 features state Sen. Maria Elena Durazo among five candidates to replace Hilda Solis, who is term-limited after more than a decade. Durazo has nearly $75,000 raised this year and about $642,000 on hand as of May 16, and District 1 covers East Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley. District 3 includes the San Fernando Valley and fire-ravaged Pacific Palisades and Malibu, where Supervisor Lindsey Horvath seeks a second four-year term. Horvath raised about $190,000 this year, outpacing three challengers, and had nearly $413,000 on hand as of May 16. No public polling exists for either race. Durazo is endorsed by the L.A. County Democratic Party and leaders including U.S. Sen. Adam Schiff and Mayor Karen Bass, and says she would address poverty and living-wage jobs by reducing wage theft and expanding workforce development.
