Fire officials reported that a Southern California wildfire has already destroyed 132 structures, primarily homes, within just 48 hours amidst forecasts of easing winds.
With containment at only 5%, evacuation orders for about 10,000 residents were issued as the Mountain Fire threatens approximately 3,500 structures in the vicinity.
Kelly Barton described the emotional toll as she witnessed her family's ranch home become a victim of the wildfire, stating, 'This was their forever retirement home; now they have to start over.'
Authorities noted ten people sustained injuries with most suffering from smoke inhalation, highlighting the severe impact the fire has had on the community.
