A suspect allegedly stole $250 in cash tips from a Leo's Coney Island in Taylor while picking up a DoorDash order. Police said the theft occurred on Memorial Day evening, May 25, when the suspect reached over the counter and took cash tips while an employee was preparing an order with her back turned. Security video showed the suspect reaching over a barrier to grab cash from the other side. The employee reported being in the last hours of a 14-hour shift and realized the theft after a customer noticed the suspect taking something. Police arrested the suspect in a traffic stop on May 26 at 8:30 p.m., using restaurant camera footage and Flock drones to identify the vehicle. The suspect was released, and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office is determining charges.
