"Due to the significant recent increases in the cost of fuel, Panda has been forced to apply a temporary fuel surcharge. Unfortunately, we can no longer continue to absorb this major increase in the cost of operating."
"Like many businesses, Panda has been hit hard by the recent spike in fuel prices in the last month, driven by ongoing global instability. Until now, we've absorbed these rising costs ourselves to protect our customers from changes to their bill."
"From May 2026, your invoice will include an itemised temporary fuel surcharge of €0.97 plus VAT per month. As an example, if you have 2 collections per month on a 3-bin collection service, the fuel surcharge works out at just over 16 cents plus VAT per collection."
Panda Waste will implement a temporary fuel surcharge of €12 annually, or approximately 97 cents monthly, for over 300,000 customers in Ireland. This decision follows significant increases in fuel costs, which the company can no longer absorb. The surcharge will be reviewed monthly and discontinued when fuel prices decrease. Recent price hikes included a 7.14% increase in the half-yearly service charge and a 9.26% increase for general waste bin collections. Other industries are also facing pressure from rising fuel costs.
