Chrisbeon, an office supplies company, continues to recover from the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 lockdown. Owner Craig Hughes noted that the initial shutdown halted business unexpectedly, but demand shifted to home office equipment as many worked remotely. Despite this shift appearing beneficial, challenges persisted, especially in logistics and supply chain management. While certain aspects of the business rebounded quickly post-lockdown, others took longer to normalize. Hughes emphasized that although operations have improved, they still haven't returned to pre-pandemic state, especially regarding customer demands and expectations.
"Lockdown effectively stopped his business overnight, but the company quickly realized people would need a small desk and chair for working from their spare bedroom."
"Everybody thinks [lockdown] was a massive boom for us, but the business still faced challenges. The logistics had to turn on its head overnight."
