AWS to give AI skills to 100,000 people in the UK by 2030
Briefly

Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced at the AWS Summit in London its goal to provide AI skills to 100,000 people in the UK by 2030. This initiative is part of the Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance program launched globally in June 2023, focusing on bridging the gap between education and employment in AI and other technology sectors. VP Allison Kay emphasized the urgency of AI adoption in the UK and collaborative efforts with various organizations to ensure students gain the necessary skills to thrive in the digital economy.
By 2030 our aim is to provide 100,000 UK students with the skills raised pathways in AI, cyber security, and in Big Data.
AI adoption was bigger than the adoption of the landline, the mobile phone, and the internet.
So that, together, we are offering these students every opportunity to thrive in today's digital economy.
This will be welcomed by the UK government which has also set high targets as part of its AI Action Plan.
