Aldi is prioritizing expansion in the UK, following a public call for site suggestions that generated thousands of responses. The aim is to identify locations that need new stores, with Bromley among the 20 chosen areas, and 650 million is invested this year to open ten new stores over the summer. The company operates over 1,050 stores and is targeting 1,500 as part of its growth strategy. Additionally, Aldi seeks suggestions for potential sites and encourages landowners to reach out.
Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said, "We want to make high-quality, affordable food accessible to everyone, and that means opening new stores in the communities that need them most."
The expansion includes a 650 million investment this year alone, with ten new stores set to open over the summer in locations such as Caterham in Surrey, Sheffield in South Yorkshire, and Fulham Broadway in London.
