James Darmody, aged 89, was involved in a serious crash on May 11 near his retirement home in Kent House Road. After sustaining life-threatening injuries, he passed away on May 30. His granddaughter, Martina Coady, expressed the family's heartbreak, stating he did not deserve such a painful end. Originally from Nenagh, Ireland, James led a fulfilling life in London, working various jobs in construction and building a loving family with his late wife, Alice. He cherished time with family, especially dancing with Alice and creating lasting memories with his granddaughters.
He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends; he was a proud, strong Irishman with a quick wit, the most charming smile and was a true gentleman.
Watching my grandparents dancing around the floor so beautifully was amazing, while waiting patiently to have my dance with grandad who helped me learn how to dance.
