Two suspects arrested as London synagogue targeted with petrol bombs in 'shocking' attack
"Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams stated, 'I hope the swift action by officers today to identify and arrest two people provides some reassurance and demonstrates how seriously we take attacks of this nature.'"
"Williams acknowledged the community's concerns, saying, 'However, we understand the significant concern the Jewish community will feel at another incident so soon after the arson attack on four ambulances in Golders Green.'"
Two individuals were arrested in Watford after throwing suspected petrol bombs and a brick at the Finchley Reform Synagogue in north London. The incident occurred shortly after midnight, but neither bottle ignited, and no injuries or damage were reported. The suspects, a 46-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, are in police custody on suspicion of arson endangering life. The investigation is being conducted by the Met's North West Command Unit with support from Counter Terrorism Policing London.
