The shopkeeper who planted flowers to stop litterbugs
Briefly

Simson Xavier, a worker at Bens of Hampstead Heath, implemented a creative solution to prevent littering outside his shop. Frustrated by the accumulation of rubbish near a tree, he and his team planted yellow primroses on March 3. Their hope is that the flowers will dissuade individuals from littering in the area, leading to a cleaner environment. Following this beautification effort, Xavier reported that littering has decreased, and the street has become cleaner as a result of their initiative.
"People are putting their rubbish here by the tree and we don't like it. We said to the people don't put your rubbish here and after that we made the street beautiful."
