In the past year, the borough experienced a total of 30,242 recorded crimes. The most significant category was theft, comprising 28.67% of all incidents, while violence against individuals accounted for 25.83%. Other types of offenses included vehicle crimes, public disorders, arson, drug-related crimes, and sexual offenses. The local police emphasized their commitment to neighborhood policing and community collaboration, leveraging technology and data analysis to effectively address crime and support victims, ensuring accountability for offenders.
A commitment to neighbourhood policing is central to our delivery of a New Met for London. We are working with our communities to ensure that crime is reported, victims are supported and those responsible for committing crime are brought to justice.
We also continue to use data and technology, such as phone tracking and surveillance techniques, to target offenders and investigate crimes that impact those living and working in London.
