The Blackwall and Silvertown Tunnel charges start next week: prices, exemptions and how to pay
Briefly

In the summer of 2023, Transport for London (TfL) announced that a toll would be implemented for the Blackwall Tunnel in order to manage maintenance costs and redirect driver traffic to the Silvertown Tunnel. Scheduled to take effect on April 7, 2025, toll fees will vary based on vehicle type and time, with peak charges set at £4 for cars. Various methods of payment, including a user-friendly TfL Autopay, will be available for drivers.
The introduction of tolls for the Blackwall Tunnel aims to fund maintenance and encourage the use of the nearby Silvertown Tunnel, starting April 2025.
The toll charge for cars will be £4 during peak hours and £1.50 during off-peak hours, with exemptions for certain vehicles.
