Seven in ten of the UK public say that the Conservative Party is currently "unelectable", according to new research from polling company Savanta.
Only one in four say the Conservative Party "understands the issues facing the country", versus nearly six in ten for Labour.
Savanta's findings suggest there is a "huge gulf between the Conservative and Labour Party brands", with some sobering findings for all the Conservative leadership contenders.
