Prolific phone-snatcher jailed after morning spree
Briefly

Oliver Brady, a 27-year-old from Edmonton, was sentenced to over two years in prison for theft and handling stolen goods, including a blind woman's phone. His crime spree was thwarted by a ceremonial beadle at Haberdashers' Hall after he was witnessed snatching phones. Despite his attempts to escape and the physical altercation with security guards, Brady was apprehended. He later cited his past injuries and drug dependency as factors driving his criminal behavior, but his extensive criminal record contributed to his sentencing.
One of the phones in Brady's possession belonged to a blind woman who had it snatched from her hand earlier in the day, causing her to fall to the ground.
He was stopped by security staff at Haberdashers' Hall who had seen him grab a phone from a passer-by. During the struggle, he punched one of the guards and began discarding the phones he was carrying.
