Piers Corbyn, the 77-year-old brother of former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, has pleaded not guilty to charges related to a protest outside the BBC on January 18. The demonstration, supporting Palestine, was limited by police due to its proximity to a synagogue. Corbyn, who previously ran for mayor of London in 2021, has been granted unconditional bail following a brief court appearance, with a trial scheduled for July 22 at Westminster Magistrates' Court. In the 2021 election, he garnered only 0.8% of the vote as a candidate for the Let London Live party.
"At a short hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court, Mr Corbyn spoke to confirm his name, date of birth, and address. He was granted unconditional bail and will face trial on 22 July."
"Mr Corbyn, 77, who was a candidate for mayor of London in 2021, was involved in the pro-Palestine demonstration on 18 January."
