More 999 alcohol calls in August than at Christmas

Last summer, London's Ambulance Service received almost 10,000 emergency calls related to alcohol, significantly more than during the December holiday season. June, July, and August each had more calls than December. Furthermore, May and June of this year have seen a rise in alcohol-related calls compared to previous years. The service attended over 9,700 alcohol-related calls and over 4,700 drug overdoses last summer. Almost 10,000 alcohol-related emergency calls were made to the London Ambulance Service last summer, with more calls in summer than Christmas party season.
Between June and August last year, LAS attended over 9,700 alcohol-related calls and 4,700 drug overdoses, surpassing December's 2,600 alcohol-related calls.
Mark Faulkner emphasized the importance of responsible drinking and urged individuals to protect themselves and friends during summer festivities.
He warned that there is no reliable drug dealer and that the safety of substances cannot be guaranteed, stressing the importance of being cautious.
