This plan aims to build on previous crime reductions, as evidenced by recent statistics showing significant decreases in various violent crimes. The plan reflects Khan's commitment to providing ample funding and resources to the Met in combating crime effectively within local communities.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has today launched his new London Police and Crime Plan, which will focus on revitalising high-visibility policing in our neighbourhoods and high streets.
The detailed plan for 2025-2029 sets out Sadiq's priorities to build on crime reductions already achieved in the capital and is focused on working with Government.
Comparing statistics for the financial year before the Mayor's previous Police and Crime Plan and the 12 months from January-December 2024, violence with injury in the Met Police area fell by 11%.
The plan comes as the Mayor has welcomed the Government's Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee, announced at the end of last year, to have 13,000 additional neighbourhood policing officers.
