The Metropolitan Police is investigating the vandalism of the Windrush Untold Stories exhibition, with a report received about an incident occurring at Windrush Square. A suspect, aged 30 to 40, was captured on CCTV and was seen entering the square and last walking north on Brixton Road. Two vandalism incidents occurred, but officials stated they do not believe they are racially motivated. Increased police presence will be established in the area, and the public is encouraged to report information regarding the suspect.
The Metropolitan Police has released an image of a man it wants to trace after a Windrush exhibit was vandalised for the second time in Brixton.
Officers received a report that a display board from the Windrush Untold Stories exhibition had been vandalised at Windrush Square at about 11:30 BST on Wednesday.
The exhibition features 20 portraits and first-hand accounts of those who arrived in the UK from the Caribbean between the late 1940s and 1970s.
Det Ch Sup Emma Bond said: "Both offences have understandably caused distress among the local community."
