Harrow Council has greenlit Dandi Living's plans to develop 223 co-living units near Harrow and Wealdstone Station, prompting significant concern from local residents. They highlighted potential loss of sunlight and privacy, as well as the strain on already overcrowded public transport. In defense, developer Mark Thompson emphasized that the project would transform a vacant site and help alleviate the housing crisis. Despite acknowledging some sunlight loss, Council officials deemed it insufficient grounds for refusal, aligning with London's strategic housing goals.
A resident of nearby Goodstone Court expressed "serious concerns" about the project, citing loss of sunlight and privacy, and also raising issues with overcrowded local transport.
Mark Thompson from Savills stated that the redevelopment would transform a long-vacant site and contribute to addressing the housing crisis while ensuring no negative impact on neighbors.
