'I lost my teeth in a random Kent pub attack - now my child won't look at me'
Briefly

Tom Riva describes a horrific attack outside The Chequers pub in Farningham, where he was struck in the face with a catapult. The incident resulted in the shattering of nine of his teeth, leading him to an emergency dental visit and a daunting £11,000 bill for restoration. The psychological impact has been profound; Riva reports sleepless nights and the inability of his young child to look at him following the attack. This traumatic experience has profoundly altered his daily life and self-image, illustrating the significant effects of such violent incidents.
I've gone outside the front and no longer than maybe a minute or two later a car stops in the road around 12 or 15 metres away. I felt like the headlights were illuminating me and as I looked at the car I have been caught in the face with what we believe to be a catapult. It resulted in my top five teeth completely shattering and my bottom four being smashed to bits.
It's the most traumatic thing that's ever happened to me. Every time I look at a mirror, I'm constantly reminded of it. Every time I brush my teeth. I am having sleepless nights because it was so horrendous and horrible.
This guy's two minutes of fun has turned my life upside down. My seven-month-old child is unable to look at me.
I rushed to the bathroom to assess the damage with blood flying everywhere. I looked in the mirror to my absolute horror to see most of my teeth missing and both my lips severely cut open.
