How London's 'Little Italy' is making a comeback

Clerkenwell, once known for its vibrant Italian community, faced significant changes due to gentrification. Remnants of its Italian heritage remain, such as St Peter's Church and Terroni deli, but new efforts are underway to rejuvenate the culture. Casa Italiana S. Vincenzo Pallotti, London's oldest Italian club, was at risk of closure but has begun attracting younger patrons through fundraising and community initiatives. With the help of donations and media exposure, the club is finding ways to thrive again, connecting with both long-time locals and new generations eager to participate.
We wanted this club to survive, so we wanted to get the youngsters involved. Rewind a year and we were about to redecorate.
It's London's oldest Italian club, having opened in 1960, but last year it was at risk of closure.
