Galliard Homes has acquired the Bromley Civic Campus, which includes the historically significant Bromley Palace, following Bromley Council's move to a new Civic Centre. This transaction is anticipated to result in financial savings for the council while opening avenues for redevelopment of the site, aiming to enhance Bromley's housing and connectivity. Importantly, Bromley Palace Park will remain accessible to the public. Both Bromley Council and Galliard Homes leaders expressed optimism regarding the potential benefits for the community and the importance of the site.
The successful completion of the sale of the former Civic Centre site for 13,501,000 followed confirmation in August 2024 that Galliard Homes would proceed with redevelopment.
Councillor Colin Smith stated that moving from the former home at Stockwell Close was sad but financially beneficial, making the decision to sell easy.
