Felicity's project aims to explore the rebellious energy of rave culture across various global cities. Each location, from the winter shoots in London to vibrant scenes in Berlin, required unique approaches. Felicity emphasized the individuality of each participant, capturing raw moments in Berlin's nightlife while opting for a more curated style in Tokyo. Despite the shared love within the rave community, Felicity noted distinctive vibes; London and Marseille embraced goth aesthetics, while Seoul showcased an intimate underground scene.
The shoots in London, for example, took place over winter, so Felicity shot in a studio. 'This stripped everything back, making it purely about the individuals rather than the space,' says Felicity.
You can see the sweat still on people's faces - it was raw, unfiltered, completely in the moment, says Felicity.
Across all cities, there was a unifying sense of care and love for others in the rave community, but some differences did arise.
While London and Marseille felt goth and emo, Felicity describes Seoul as having a 'real coolness about it'.
