Family business in Donegal damaged folllowing major overnight fire
A major fire broke out at Cherrymore Kitchens at Ardlenagh on the Ballyshannon Road in Donegal Town late on Thursday night, May 21, before 11pm. The premises is believed to be extensively damaged, with parts totally destroyed and the remainder suffering substantial smoke damage. Fire services from across the county attended and worked overnight to extinguish the blaze, with six brigades and 58 personnel involved. There are no reports of any injuries. The R267 from the Tullyearl roundabout was closed overnight and has since reopened. The business thanked emergency services and the local community, stating the Donegal Town premises will remain closed while damage is assessed and reassuring that no personnel were on-site at the time.
