A fire at a west London school on Kennet Road led to a significant emergency response, with eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters attending the scene. The blaze, which started shortly after 1pm, was brought under control by 2.41pm. At least one woman required treatment from London Ambulance Service paramedics, while the investigation into the fire's cause is ongoing. Station Commander Hardeep Dale confirmed the school's successful evacuation prior to firefighter arrival and emphasized ongoing support for those affected by the incident. Road closures were enacted for safety.
The school was safely evacuated before our crews arrived, and we are working closely with partner agencies to support everyone affected by the incident.
Firefighters used two of the Brigade's 32-metre turntable ladders as water towers to tackle the fire from above and bring the situation under control.
