'Cramped' homes in Romford shop units found in breach of planning rules
Briefly

A planning enforcement notice has been issued by Havering Council for the unauthorized conversion of two units behind 61 and 63 Crow Lane into residential dwellings without permission. This change of use occurred between April 2018 and April 2022, leading to concerns over inadequate living conditions and insufficient facilities. The notice mandates the removal of all residential amenities by July 28. The director of Wakefield 85 Ltd, Anthony Kenneth Wakefield, is linked to the properties in question, which have no recent planning applications beyond a historical one in 1996.
The enforcement notice reveals that the two units have "inadequate floor space" to be used as homes, resulting in "cramped and poor quality" living conditions.
Havering Council sent the enforcement notice to several addresses, with Anthony Kenneth Wakefield as the addressed individual linked to the properties.
