Baby bitten by bed bugs as young family stuck in 'house of horrors' in south east London
Briefly

A London family described their distressing living conditions after moving into a studio flat in Beckenham, facing numerous infestations including bed bugs and mice since May 2022. Their one-year-old son has suffered painful bites, while mould proliferates in the home. The mother, Antonia Wall, highlighted their lack of repairs and hot water for months, making it nearly impossible to maintain proper hygiene for her child. The family's pleas underscore the harrowing impact of their unaddressed housing issues and the urgent need for action.
Since I moved here there have been no repairs. The hot water isn't working in my bathroom. I have no shower at the moment, so I can not even wash my baby.
It's really heartbreaking. He has been bitten on his arms, his legs, his belly, his hands. It's horrible seeing my son covered in these bites.
I don't sleep at night because I'm scared they are going to come and bite him. I haven't even got hot water to sanitise properly.
Everywhere in the building has bed bugs. They have spread from the communal areas and the laundry room.
