A new art space called Camden Arts Projects (CAP) has opened in north London, reimagining a repurposed Methodist church into a cultural venue. Founded by artists Philip and Charlotte Colbert, CAP's mission is to support emerging and established artists, making art accessible to the local community. Under the direction of Tom Keating and curator Hala Matar, the opening exhibition features acclaimed artist Martin Creed's works. This initiative aims to rejuvenate the arts scene, promoting free access to contemporary art in collaboration with various artists and filmmakers.
CAP was founded with the aim of reopening and revitalising this important cultural venue, with a focus on supporting both emerging and established artists and filmmakers and making them free and accessible to the wider community.
The launch show includes two works by the Turner prize winning artist Martin Creed, an immersive installation and a neon work displayed on the building façade.
