In a thrilling conclusion to her debut Tour of Britain, teenage cyclist Cat Ferguson lost her overall lead to Ally Wollaston during the final stage sprint in Glasgow. Both riders were tied on time, but Wollaston utilized bonus seconds gained in earlier sprints to secure an overall victory. Despite her disappointment, Ferguson acknowledged Wollaston’s strength, while Wollaston credited her teammates for their support. Wiebes emerged as the stage winner, bringing some redemption to her team after a challenging week marred by crashes.
I would have loved to have won. I am gutted, but she was the strongest today, Ferguson, of the Movistar team, said.
The plan was to get as many seconds as I could, and unfortunately Cat was on my wheel for every single one, so it really came down to the last sprint.
