A road so full of U-turns, the Lib Dems are calling it 'Keir Starmer Lane' - London Business News | Londonlovesbusiness.com
Briefly

The Southwark Liberal Democrats have launched a campaign focused on addressing the severe traffic issues on West Lane, known for its frequent U-turns. Drivers have resorted to turning on West Lane due to the removal of a right-hand turn from Southwark Park Road three years ago. The party is advocating for a common-sense solution to reopen this turn, insisting that current traffic directives, which direct cars into residential areas, are not only impractical but hazardous. Cllr Rachel Bentley criticizes the leadership behind the current traffic plans, calling for immediate action.
West Lane is so full of U-turns, it may as well be named Keir Starmer Lane. But where Starmer's recent U-turns have been driven by indecision and poor leadership, the U-turns here are caused by poorly consulted and implemented traffic schemes by our Labour council.
It makes absolutely no sense to send cars literally around the houses, so it's no surprise that drivers end up using West Lane as a turning point.
