South London pub to host controversial former Kasabian frontman despite backlash
Tom Meighan, former Kasabian frontman, is scheduled to perform at The Half Moon in Putney on June 26. He was convicted in July 2020 for assaulting his partner after an April 2020 attack, receiving an 18-month community order, 200 hours of unpaid work, and five days of rehabilitation. Residents contacted Labour MP Fleur Anderson about the sold-out show. Anderson wrote to Young’s CEO Simon Dodd, arguing the booking provides a platform for domestic abuse and could send a harmful message to survivors. Young’s said it respects accountability and change while acknowledging strong local feelings.
