On February 19, at approximately 11:15 PM, a man made sexual comments to a victim on a Tube train and subsequently sexually assaulted her. Other commuters intervened, prompting the individual to flee at South Wimbledon station. The British Transport Police has issued a public appeal for information, releasing CCTV images of a man they believe may assist in their investigation. Authorities have encouraged anyone with relevant information to contact them via text or phone, including an anonymous option through Crimestoppers.
A man made sexual remarks to the victim on-board the service between the two stations at 11.15pm on February 19 before sitting next to her and sexually assaulting her.
Police want to speak to this man. Other passengers intervened and the man left the Tube at South Wimbledon, officers with the British Transport Police said.
Launching an appeal, police released CCTV images of a man they said may have information which could help their investigation.
Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV, or has any other information, is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.
