One of London's Best Clubs Is Closing Next Year
"Over its 23 years in business, Corsica Studios, opened by Amanda Moss and Adrian Jones, has built a reputation for being one of the best clubs in the city. It's played host to DJs like Four Tet, Bicep, Nina Kraviz and Fred Again, it's been regularly voted as one of the best clubs in the world by DJ Mag, and soon it'll be closing down."
"No official statement regarding the club's closure has been made yet but sources told The Londoner that it's a result of an increasingly difficult operating environment, including dwindling profit margins and noise complaints from neighbours. Corsica Studios is housed in railway arches close to Elephant & Castle station, an area that's undergone significant development and gentrification in recent years. In 2018 that club received £125,000 by Delancey, the real estate company behind the Elephant & Castle town centre development, for soundproofing."
Corsica Studios has operated for 23 years in Elephant & Castle, founded by Amanda Moss and Adrian Jones. The venue hosted DJs including Four Tet, Bicep, Nina Kraviz and Fred Again and was regularly voted among the world's best by DJ Mag. The club will close permanently in 2026 amid dwindling profit margins and noise complaints. The venue occupies railway arches near Elephant & Castle station, an area affected by development and gentrification. Delancey paid £125,000 for soundproofing in 2018; planned expansion in 2023 threatened the site, and relocation, soundproofing and licensing costs were judged unviable. No closure date has been announced.
