A tragic fire at a nightclub in Kocani, North Macedonia, claimed the lives of at least 51 individuals and injured over 100 others during a concert by the hip-hop duo DNK. The flames, reportedly ignited by pyrotechnics, rapidly spread through the venue. Interior Minister Pance Toskovski confirmed the casualties and stated that one individual has been arrested in connection with the incident. Prime Minister Mickoski expressed profound sorrow over the loss, vowing government support for affected families during this heartbreaking time.
According to the data we have by now, 51 persons lost their lives, and more than 100 persons are injured and transported in the hospitals in Stip, Kocani and Skopje.
A difficult and very sad day for Macedonia. The loss of so many young lives is irreparable, and the pain of the families, loved ones and friends is immeasurable.
