A new Boyzone documentary, One for the Road, will follow the band as they prepare to reunite for their last time. The film is set against decades of personal history, the pressure of thousands of expectant fans, and unresolved tensions carried from their final 2019 tour. It aims to show the band’s final chapter and how they want to go out on their own terms. The documentary follows the earlier three-part series Boyzone: No Matter What, which charted their rise to fame and received record-breaking response. The reunion includes one-off concerts at Emirates Stadium on June 6 and an added second show on June 5 due to huge demand.
"A new Boyzone documentary will be a "funny, raw and revealing" look at the boy band before their final ever shows. Last year, the three-part documentary Boyzone: No Matter What - which charted their rise to fame - was released. Now, they are again being followed by cameras for One for the Road, as they prepare to reunite for the last time."
"The new documentary will come "against the backdrop of decades of personal history and the pressure of thousands of expectant fans", which also sees the band "carrying unresolved tensions and unfinished business from their final tour" in 2019. It has been teased that they now want to go out on their own terms with a send-off they, and fans, want."
"Speaking about the upcoming release, executive producer Dov Freedman said the response to the first series was "incredible" and broke records for Sky Documentaries. "I think audiences really engaged in a celebrity doc with such raw truth and honesty," he said. "We're incredibly privileged to be working with the boys again and telling the story of their final chapter.""
"One For The Road has been labelled a "warm, funny, raw and revealing story of friendship, forgiveness, ageing and legacy", which also follows the enduring bond between Boyzone and their fans."
