"About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in 23, I thought We have to do this, it's completely uncharted territory!' Metallica co-founder/drummer Lars Ulrich said in a news release announcing the band's Sphere residency. This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting."
"The Metallica Sphere residency will continue the No Repeat Weekend tradition that began with the 2023 kick-off of the band's M72 World Tour so that means no songs will be repeated during the Thursday and Saturday shows of each weekend in the run."
Metallica announced six additional shows for its Life Burns Faster residency at Sphere in Las Vegas following exceptional ticket sales. The initial eight shows, scheduled for October 1, 3, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, and 31, sold so rapidly during presale that the band immediately expanded the residency. Fan club presale for the new shows begins March 4 at 10 a.m., with general public sales following shortly after. Lars Ulrich stated the residency represents uncharted territory for live performances, inspired by U2's Sphere shows. The residency will maintain the No Repeat Weekend tradition from Metallica's M72 World Tour, ensuring different setlists for Thursday and Saturday performances each weekend.
