Hilda Jackson celebrated her 105th birthday with a vibrant rave-style party at her Derbyshire care home, complete with strobe lights and cocktails. Joyfully reflecting on her lively past, Jackson shared her surprise and gratitude for the turnout, expressing her fond memories of spontaneous adventures with friends. During her interview, she acknowledged the contrast between her active mindset and her seasoned age, emphasizing her contentment with reaching this milestone. Her comments on the state of the world added a thoughtful note to her celebratory reflections.
I think we've had a really good time, Jackson said, her face decorated with UV paint. I've enjoyed every minute of it, and that's everything.
I never thought I would reach 105. I'm very pleased I have, because I don't feel any different to when I was 100.
We used to travel a lot, go to different places, which I loved, she said. I could drive and I'd got a car.
Reflecting on the current state of the world, Jackson said it could be better. I can't tell [leaders] what to do or what not to do.
