Hatebreed guitarist diagnosed with brain tumor in midst of tour
Briefly

Wayne Lozinak, guitarist for Hatebreed, has been diagnosed with a benign brain tumor, which necessitated his departure from the band's ongoing UK/European tour. Following mild symptoms that raised stroke concerns during the Download Festival, he sought medical care and underwent a CT scan that revealed the tumor. Thankfully, it is non-cancerous, classified as a benign meningioma. As he prepares for surgery in the U.S., the band has expressed gratitude for the support from fans and confirmed that Matt Bachand and Karl Schwartz will cover guitar and bass duties, respectively, in his absence.
The diagnosis of a benign meningioma, a non-cancerous brain tumor that has likely been present for years, was considered the best possible outcome given the circumstances.
Wayne is determined to return to Hatebreed as soon as he is able, demonstrating his strength and resilience amidst this challenging situation.
We deeply appreciate the love and support from fans, friends, and the music community during this time as Wayne begins his journey toward recovery.
Matt Bachand will take over guitar duties while Karl Schwartz fills in on bass, ensuring Hatebreed can continue performing during Wayne's recovery.
