"It's something that you don't think about when you're writing songs or playing music. You don't write the songs for awards, but when you do get nominated, it is a lovely moment to sit back and soak in what's really happened in the last couple of years."
Amble, a band from Galway, received the RTÉ Choice Music Prize Song of the Year award for their track 'Schoolyard Days' at an awards ceremony held at Vicar Street in Dublin on Thursday evening. The band described the recognition as a huge honour. Band member Robbie Cunningham explained that while they don't write songs with awards in mind, receiving nominations and winning provides a meaningful opportunity to reflect on their recent accomplishments and progress. The band expressed hope for additional awards recognition.
