According to attendees of the band's recent Cleveland show, Oberst was visibly intoxicated and, at times, couldn't play guitar or remember lyrics, leading to a highly criticized performance.
Oberst has often performed intoxicated, but several attendees noted that Oberst was particularly out of it, ending the set by expressing suicidal thoughts, indicating serious underlying issues.
