The festival launches in Toomey’s Bar on Friday 29 May, then continues on Saturday at Donard Hall with The Clem O’Brien Band, Whistle, The Watery Hill Boys, The Bluestack Mountain Boys, and guests. The event is non-profit, and local companies are invited to assist with sponsorship, with tickets still available locally. An emergency kit is located outside shops in Donard and Castleruddery. In Dunlavin, a Mass Rock Mass at Corragh is set for 31 May, with meeting at St. Kevin’s Church carpark in Hollywood at 6:30am and Mass at 8:30am, with no Mass in St. Kevin’s Church that morning. An arts festival concert, “Midsummer Magical Melodies,” takes place on 20 June in St Nicholas Church, featuring Niamh Murray, Ronan Murray, the Gormanstown Choir, and the Dara Quartet, with €25 tickets via Eventbrite and 087 9693960. A Culture Bus trip to Leinster House is scheduled for 9 July, leaving Dunlavin at 10am and returning at 5pm, with limited numbers and early booking recommended.

"At the monthly guild meeting last week, the only First Responder left in the Donard/Glen area, Paul Byrne gave a wonderful very helpful talk. He explained how to recognise the difference betweem a heart attack and stroke and how to start dealing with each one while waiting for the ambulance. He brought along a dummy and defibrillator so that members could become familiar with using them."
"There is an emergency kit outside the shops in Donard and Castleruddery. The guild really appreciated Paul giving up his time to bring this vital service to our attention."
