An Exhibition of Rare Blondie Photos Is Coming to London
Briefly

The Barbican Music Library will exhibit 'Blondie in Camera 1978,' showcasing 50 rare photographs by Martyn Goddard, capturing the band during their peak. This exhibition highlights key moments from Blondie's history in the year of their iconic album, Parallel Lines. Alongside the photographs, it will include poster prints, album covers, and memorabilia from Alan Edwards' PR collection. The event celebrates the band's journey from their formation in 1974 to their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, alongside their ongoing legacy with new music.
"When I boarded the plane in May 1978 to photograph Blondie's lead singer, Debbie Harry, in New York, I could not have conceived that there would still be a demand for my images over 45 years later."
"Those assignments produced a body of work that resulted in magazine cover stories, album and single covers, tour programmes, posters, a book, and two photo exhibitions."
"Blondie in Camera 1978 at Barbican Music Library is my visual record of those images and memorabilia collected during a seminal time in the band's history."
"The exhibition will also feature poster prints, album covers, concert memorabilia, and items from the private collection of Alan Edwards, who's done Blondie's PR since 1978."
