The RHS Botanical Art & Photography Show at the Saatchi Gallery showcases delicate plant portraits from around the globe. This exhibition serves as an annual competition, featuring winners with medals and details about the artists' efforts in portraying plants. A retrospective on Lilian Sneelling highlights her significance in botanical art. In addition to paintings, the exhibition includes botanical photography and an immersive indoor landscape that transforms lighting to reveal how plants appear to pollinators like bees. The shows are free and on display until July 27.
The annual RHS Botanical Art & Photography Show is currently filling the ground floor of the Saatchi Gallery with delicate portraits of plants from around the world.
The exhibition is also part of an annual competition, so expect to see a number of medals displayed around the winners, along with explanations of who painted the plants.
There's also a small retrospective look at Miss Lilian Sneelling, who was described as the 'greatest botanical artist of her time and amongst the greatest of all time'.
An indoor landscape invites you to see plants as the pollinators see them; every couple of minutes, the lighting turns ultraviolet, revealing a world visible only to bees.
