Polka Theatre has announced an exciting lineup of events designed to empower children through theatre. Highlighting the schedule is the "Easter egg-stravaganza" production of "Chicken Licken", which runs from April 5 to May 11, showcasing live music, puppetry, and storytelling. Artistic Director Helen Matravers emphasizes the collaboration with Derby Theatre and Hiccup Theatre in providing accessible performance, ensuring all children can enjoy inspiring theatre. Additionally, the theatre plans various workshops over the Easter period, including sensory storytelling sessions for toddlers and a musical workshop for young children.
Polka's work with Derby Theatre and Hiccup is leading the way in accessible performance for young audiences, and I am excited to be working with these incredible organisations at the forefront of what exceptional BSL-led work can be for our audiences.
Polka works tirelessly to break down barriers so that all children can experience inspiring theatre, and this show not only offers incredible accessibility, but is a gorgeously inventive, fun and playful production for children and families to enjoy.
