The Waterstones bookstore in Orpington has permanently closed after nearly two decades of operation at the Nugent Shopping Centre. The closure, effective February 16, was attributed to an unresolved situation between Waterstones and the landlord. In their statement, the company expressed gratitude for the community's support over the years and indicated future plans to relocate within Orpington. In the meantime, customers are encouraged to visit nearby branches, such as Waterstones in Bromley or shop online until a new location is confirmed.
Sadly, circumstances between Waterstones and this bookshop's landlord have left no other option than the immediate closure of Waterstones Orpington.
Over almost two decades of trade at Nugent Shopping Park, it has been a pleasure to serve our local community, and we now look forward to our return elsewhere.
