Warehouse ravaged by fire on industrial estate in Rainham earmarked for replacement
Briefly

In December 2022, a blaze at Deans Factory Estate in Rainham severely damaged half of Unit 6, necessitating a response from 70 firefighters and 10 fire engines. The fire, attributed to a faulty electrical safety device in an oven, took nearly two hours to extinguish. Following the incident, the remaining structure of the warehouse was demolished in 2023 due to safety concerns. KMDS Designs has now applied for permission to construct a taller two-storey replacement. If approved, construction could commence by July 2023, although the future tenant remains unspecified.
