Three teenage girls plead guilty to killing 75-year-old man in north London street
Briefly

Three teenage girls, aged 15, 16, and 17, have pled guilty to manslaughter for the fatal street attack on 75-year-old Fredi Rivero in North London. Rivero was assaulted by the girls who filmed the attack, resulting in grave injuries that led to his death. The incident occurred near a bus stop, where Rivero was targeted, robbed of his glasses, and brutally beaten. His family mourns their loss, and the police have expressed concern over the impact of such violence on the community. The teenagers face sentencing on 5 September.
The young defendants have now accepted they were responsible for the killing of Mr. Rivero, in what was a senseless and completely out of the blue attack on a lone, elderly man.
DI Devan Taylor, from Scotland Yard, said: 'Mr. Rivero was a much-loved family man who died in a truly tragic incident.'
The age of the defendants adds to the devastating nature of this incident and they will now have to deal with the enormity of their actions.
Police received reports of the attack at 11.25pm and on arrival found Rivero unconscious with a severe head injury and in cardiac arrest.
