Sunset Buzz: Longtime Sunset restaurants You See Sushi, Yumma's close as owners retire
""We were able to make friends and memories that we couldn't even imagine when we first immigrated here," the owners Ikuko Miura and Paul wrote on a notice on the door."
""Every recipe we have shared with you came from her kitchen and her heart," the owner wrote about Yumma's, emphasizing the personal connection to their family heritage."
""A complaint investigation revealed that tenant improvements were occurring without the benefit of a permit," stated the notice taped on the door of the closed Turkish restaurant."
You See Sushi closed after 35 years due to the owners' retirement, expressing gratitude for the friendships formed. Yumma's, a Mediterranean restaurant, also closed after nearly 30 years, with the owner retiring at 74. The restaurant was named after the owners' mother, and they cherished sharing her recipes. Sunset Roasters relocated to a new site after serving coffee in Golden Gate Park for almost two years. Construction on a former Turkish restaurant halted due to permit violations. The Inner Sunset Flea Market will return in April for its 11th year.
