The rollout of new Docklands Light Railway (DLR) trains has been postponed, with the latest update suggesting they will now be ready later this year instead of April 2024. As a result, 20% of the current fleet, which includes older trains from the 1990s, will be retired this summer. Transport for London (TfL) is currently addressing identified signalling issues, with the hope of replacing the old trains and significantly enhancing service reliability and customer experience by the end of 2026.
We apologise for any inconvenience to customers but these changes are necessary to ensure we can maintain the most reliable service possible.
Testing of the new DLR trains - which will significantly improve frequency, reliability and customer experience across the network - is now well advanced.
